Shelina Begum is a highly motivated, culturally orientated and dedicated individual with a solid record of practical and philanthropic accomplishments.

 

Shelina has worked extensively in various fields of the fashion and art world, initially working in the commercial arts. As a result the knowledge of artists and artistic practice is a key strength combined with curatorial, project management, strategy development ensuring integrated and challenging arts commissions. As an exceptionally emerging curator and art consultant Shelina has lead on the integration of art work Internationally.

Shelina’s approach is creative and lateral; whilst focusing on art, it also involves other disciplines including anthropology, culture, design, fashion, film, architecture, photography, creative writing and philosophy.

In addition to arts consultancy, Shelina holds two prominent philanthropic posts.

She works with OXFAM as a Diversity Champion where she supports training events in the UK, and consults diversity issues with others, making opportunities where appropriate, and supporting others in challenging inappropriate behaviours. Following completion of an extensive cultural research, Shelina is working closely with the South Asian Engagement Programme to develop International diversity amongst Retail Operations team.

Further to this, Shelina’s other post is as a Micro-Finance researcher for Muslim Aid, UK. Her current project is designing and developing a new microfinance branch (Zakat based International Entrepreneurial Programme) which will enable to further alleviate poverty.
